Sheffield Open Heart Club (SHOC) is an organisation to support heart surgery patients started in 1984 at Northern General Hospital. It has a team of volunteers who have experienced heart surgery and can speak about things from a patients perspective. The volunteers talk to patients on the ward and at nurse led Pre-surgery information sessions.

There is a twice yearly newsletter about the clubs activities and occasional social gatherings during the year.
