Single Point of Access (SPA) for Adult Community Mental Health Services
The Single Point of Access (SPA) dovetails with the Out of Hours (OOH) Service, creating a single point of referral 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to people who are between 18 and 65 years of age, who are registered with a GP practice in the city of Sheffield.
SPA carry out triage, crisis assessment and duty functions. Staff will be co-located with Out of Hours staff and the city wide Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) Service and work closely with the Home Treatment Service (HTS) and Liaison Psychiatry Service.

How is the service accessed?
Referrals are accepted from GPs or other clinical teams within Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust. Referrals may also be accepted from other health or social care professionals, housing, voluntary sector, relatives and by self-referral.
