We meet on the 3rd Monday in the month 7.30-9.00pm. at Cemetery Road Baptist Church. Since its beginning the Society has been promoting the study of local, social and family history in the area, for the benefit and education of the public; help is on hand. The Society has a library held at Sheffield Archives, and a Speaker is present at our monthly meetings, details of which are below -
Sheffield Bach Choir was founded in1950. Around 60 strong, under our conductor Simon Lindley, we have built a reputation for musical excellence with dynamiic performances of modern classics and Baroque masterpieces. The choir regularly performs three of Bach's major choral masterpieces: Mass in B Minor, St Matthew Passion and St John Passion as well as Handel'sMessiah every December.
