This service helps people live independently with an individualised package of support tailored to the persons needs

b:friend is a charity aiming to reduce loneliness and social isolation in people aged 65 and over. We receive referrals via our website from anyone who may identify a person who would benefit from extra company. Volunteer befrienders visit socially isolated neighbours for an hour a week, hoping to reduce loneliness and make the life of our older neighbours a little happier.

Befriending service
Share a cuppa and a chat with one of our friendly volunteers. Open to anyone over 18 in Foxhill, Parson Cross, Southey Green and Grenoside. We do home visits or can meet you in a comfortable location such as a local coffee shop.
Churches Together in Broomhill and Broomhall, Community Worker with older people
to reduce the isolation and loneliness of older people within the communities of Broomhill and Broomhall. Offering support with appointments, benefits, outings and social events or just by listening and offering a helping hand.

LiveWell at Home
LiveWell at Home is a free service for anyone aged 55 or over who lives in Sheffield. Our aim is to enable older people in Sheffield to live independently in their own home.
We offer a range of flexible support on anything related to housing or health, including: support following discharge from hospital;
advice on how to maximise income, apply for grants and benefits, and manage debt; finding a new home, including help to move; a 17-point ‘Home Check’; mental health; loneliness and isolation, help to quit smoking and cut down on alcohol.
