What does this service offer?
Our Emotional Support service helps those affected by stroke come to terms with what has happened to them. We offer individual counselling sessions, run by a professional counsellor, who is trained to recognise and understand the emotional effects of stroke. These sessions explore issues such as:
- loss and adjustment
- relationships
- understanding guilt and anger
- building confidence and self-esteem.
Who is the service for?
This service is for stroke survivors (including TIAs/mini-strokes) of any age, and families and carers of people affected by stroke, living in Sheffield.
