Who we’re for
T-Boys is a support and social group for any person assigned female at birth who considers themselves to be on the trans spectrum or is questioning their gender, including trans men at all stages of transition, non-binary, genderqueer and intersex people, and all other female towards male expressions of gender variance. We also provide support to SOFFAs (significant others, friends, family and allies).
Young trans people under the age of 18 are welcome to attend most of our meetings, but please let us know if you intend to come in advance so we can ensure our DBS checked committee members are present.
How we’re run
T-Boys is a peer-run community group. We are run by a committee of up to seven who are voted in by members at our annual AGM each March. We strive to be as responsive as possible to your needs so we value any input, ideas, or feedback about the group.
What we offer
We offer access to information that may otherwise be hard to obtain, and the opportunity to find support and gain confidence in a safe space where your identity and confidentiality will be respected.
We try to provide a range of activities over the year, including social meets, outdoor activities, creative workshops and informative talks. We also work closely with other LGBT+ groups in Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
Besides our monthly meetings, we run a buddying scheme where we can arrange for you to meet with a couple of our members. People often find this useful if they’re not sure whether T-Boys would be helpful for them, or if they’d like to get to know some faces before coming to a meeting.
Please get in touch if you’d like more information about what we do or if you think we’d be able to offer support.
