South Yorkshire Service for Deaf People with Mental Health Needs

The service is part of the NHS and works in conjunction with Mental Health Teams in South Yorkshire to assess and support the needs of deaf people with secondary mental health needs who are British Sign Language users. The service will also provide consultation to teams in relation to deaf people who do not sign but may have complex communication needs, possibly due to their mental health.

The service is part of the NHS and works in conjunction with Mental Health Teams in South Yorkshire to assess and support the needs of deaf people with secondary mental health needs who are British Sign Language users. The service will also provide consultation to teams in relation to deaf people who do not sign but may have complex communication needs, possibly due to their mental health.

Referrals must be sent to local Mental Health Teams in conjunction with the Deaf Mental Health Service.

We work with adults over 18 and also work with younger peopleĀ in conjunction with Early Intervention in Psychosis services
