The Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield (SCI) is a 4-side-partnership between the University of Sheffield, the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) and Nanjing University (NJU), offering activities and courses designed to give wider community an insight into Chinese language and culture.
The Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield (SCI) was set up in 2007 in partnership with the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) and Nanjing University (NJU). It offers a programme of activities and courses designed to give university staff and students, as well as the local community an insight into Chinese language and culture. The extended services include provision of courses and public events in Chinese language and culture focusing on the needs of business, low-carbon events and health.
These non-degree Mandarin Chinese language and cultural learning courses for the wider community include: taster sessions, Survival Chinese, evening classes, vocational Chinese, in-house training, one-to-one tuition and Tai Chi.
