Burton Street Foundation – Day Activities, Day Care & Day Opportunities

The Burton Street Foundation contributes to the local community by supporting people through activities and enterprise. It provides creative, sporting and work based activities for people with learning disabilities including autism, people with physical impairments and or sensory impairments and people with mental health conditions. Burton Street Foundation is committed to providing a high standard of care and have experience working with clients who attend with complex needs, including mental health conditions. We offer services for Children with learning disabilities from the age of 8, right through transition and into our Adult services. We are registered with Care Quality Commission, and are voluntary registered with Ofsted.

The following lists some of the services that Burton Street Foundation provides:
Inside Out
Inside Out provides creative day time activities for adults with mild, moderate and severe learning disabilities to assist with the development of self-confidence, self-awareness and self-esteem in a stimulating, fun and comfortable atmosphere where clients feel safe, respected and relaxed.
The Inside Out staff team are made up of very skilled, creative and caring individuals. The majority of Inside Out sessions take place at Burton Street, with the exception of “Get out there” and “Sky’s the limit” which is aimed at helping people with more moderate learning disabilities to live life in a more independent and fulfilling way.

Reach Out
Reach Out is an Inside out service which reaches out into the wider community by delivering sessions in the heart of the community.
Reach Out is currently operating in Beighton, but plans to expand to other areas.

Independent Living
From September 2015 we will be offering Independent Living Training in a purpose built house constructed within our facilities. This will enable those clients with an aspiration for a more independent life to learn the skills necessary to enable this to happen.

React
React provides sessions in creative arts for adults with profound and complex learning disabilities and physical impairments including people with challenging behaviour and people on the autistic spectrum, to enable and improve communication and self-expression.
Sessions are carefully designed to provide the right environment in which to enjoy person centred activities. The staff team are creative, well trained and motivated to provide high quality sessions at a personal, meaningful level.

Enterprise 100
From September 2015 Burton Street Foundation will be launching Enterprise 100. This is a service designed to meet the needs of a growing number of clients with learning and or physical disabilities with an aspiration to work. Enterprise 100 is supported by Sheffield City Council and a wide range of external partner organisations with the aim of finding 100 sustainable jobs for 100 adults with learning disabilities in Sheffield within the next 3 years. Enterprise 100 will run programmes for adults with learning disabilities to equip them with the skills and confidence to seek and secure employment. It will also give opportunities for clients to take part in volunteering activities and work placements.

Let’s Go….
Individual support for adults with profound and complex learning and physical disabilities to access activities in the community.
Let’s Go offers 4 distinct services:
Let’s Go …Out - This service offers a tailored, person specific service to clients that need support to access their community, their hobbies or to enhance their social life. We match clients to support staff and can cover daytimes and evening 7 days a week.
