This carers group, specifically for the carers of people living with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), is a space where carers can come and have a cup of tea and a chat with people who are going through similar experiences. Everything said in the group is in the strictest confidence in a relaxed and calm environment.
The FTD carers group is run by two brothers (Lee and Andrew) who cared for their mother who had FTD for over a decade. On the 2nd Tuesday of each month the group meet in the community room (by the peacock enclosure) at Heeley City Farm from 6.30pm till 8.30pm for a space to share, question or just listen. The group is a relaxed environment where a carer can come for the whole session or just a few minutes. Everything said in the group is held in the strictest confidence.
Note; Lee and Andrew are not medical professionals, they run the group due to their experiences.
