Beauchief Pre-School

Description

Founded in 1970 by local parents we continue to be a valued part of the community. We provide a warm and loving environment for your child to start their learning journey.

  • We offer care and education for children from 2 years to school age and currently have 34 children on our register.
  • Sessions run Monday - Friday 9am-12pm during term time with full day sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday 9am-3pm. Children attending from 12pm need to bring a packed lunch.
  • Our staff are experienced, caring, enthusiastic and hard working. We have a very good ratio of about 5 children per staff member.
  • Our fees are £11.50 per session. Once you have used your free entitlement either with us or with another childcare provider, additional sessions are charged at £11.50. We also accept workplace childcare vouchers. Please contact us for more information.
  • We are a registered charity (no. 1024412) - any profits from fees and fundraising are invested back into resources for pre-school.
  • We follow a curriculum that enables children to progress towards the early learning goals throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and prepares them for entry into Primary School.
  • We are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance which allows us to keep up to date with new ideas and practices. Our staff also receive ongoing advice and training through their courses, literature and support.
  • Our latest OFSTED report in June 2015 found the provision of Early Years Education to be "Good" with recognition for the dedication and experience of staff and the great feedback from parents.
  • We have a lovely, spacious hall with excellent resources and a large, secure garden which we try to make use of daily.
  • Parents can be actively involved with pre-school through the Parent Forum which assists in the management of Pre-School or in other, less formal ways.
  • Children attending our pre-school can feed into any of the local primary schools.
  • Within walking distance of Woodseats, Millhouses and Greenhill, we can be found on bus routes 87 and 76. We also have a car park on site.
