Abbeyfield Grange Community Support offers a wide range of services for people with moderate to severe enduring mental health problems aged 18 years and over. The service offers a specialised support service with highly experienced staff who have been trained in caring for people who have mental health problems. Abbeyfield Grange Community Support is on the Registered Providers List for Sheffield City Council.
Staff can support service users and assist them in accessing services in their community such as social activities or leisure groups and encouraging clients to lead a more independent lifestyle both in their own home and out in their community, helping them to meet their needs and achieve their desired outcomes as identified in their Support Plan.
Services Provided:
• Staff offer support to service users whilst they are engaged in activities such as cooking, cleaning and shopping. A service user can opt to have a one to one cooking session with a staff member or take part in a group activity using the residential home's kitchen, etc.
- Support service users who wish to access their community (such as attending education courses, making and getting to appointments and taking part in leisure and social activities)
- Medication support (monitoring and reminding)
- Sitting service - to give carers respite
- Befriending
- Promoting independence and support in developing daily living skills
- Promoting healthy living
We also provide a 3 bed supported living home in Sheffield, where support staff visit on a daily basis to promote independence.
These are just a few of the services available, the level and type of support provided will be influenced by your individual Support Plan.
Works in partnership with Abbeyfield Grange a private residential home that provides long-term group living accommodation and care services to people with past and present mental health problems. Abbeyfield is able to support service users who have a long history of challenging behaviour, who have failed in other care settings. Abbeyfield seeks to provide a bridge for service users who are in hospital and need discharging back into a safe and well supported environment within the community whilst reducing the risk of re-admission.

Qualifications & Quality Standards:
Abbeyfield Grange residential home has been in existence for 24 years.
Support staff have at least 2 years experience in the mental health field and will have undertaken induction training including First Aid, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene plus specific training related to mental health issues, including Safeguarding Adults, Mental Capacity/DOLS, Challenging Behaviour, Alcohol/drugs awareness, Bi-Polar disorder and medication training. All staff are CRB checked and have 2 good references.
Abbeyfield Grange Community Support holds the Investors In People and the Positive About Disabled People awards. The organisation has Public Liability, Employer's Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance. Also has policies in place for H&S, Recruitment and Selection, Code of Conduct for Staff, Safeguarding Adults, Confidentiality, Business Continuity Plan/Emergency Plan, Support Planning, Complaints Procedure, Service Terms and Conditions Agreement.
