We are a political choir, not affiliated to any particular party. Open to anyone who shares our vision of singing to promote and celebrate freedom, justice and peace for all around the world.
Sheffield Socialist Choir has been singing for over 25 years - for freedom, justice and peace around the world. We are not affiliated to any political party but sing in support of campaigns in harmony with our vision, for a society which cares about such issues as asylum-seekers, the NHS, the welfare state, climate change, and freedom for Palestine. No auditions, no need to read music, all songs are learned by ear.
Members pay termly fees of £75, £60 or £30 – each choosing which they can afford. The money goes to pay our Musical Directors, room rent, and administration costs, etc. We also operate a bursary scheme for those who cannot afford even the lowest rate.
Meets at St Mary's Church, Bramall Lane, Sheffield S2 4QZ at 7.30 on Thursdays in school term time.
