Hutchinson Deafblind Trust

Summary
Sylvia Hutchinson from Huddersfield spent years trying to develop services for her son, John, who was deafblind. She recognised the unique need of those with a combined vision and hearing loss and the challenges faced by their families. It was her wish that the proceeds of her estate be used to help others in Yorkshire who find themselves in the same situation. The charity was registered in 2009 by a small group of dedicated Trustees who wish to honour Sylvia’s wishes by raising awareness of and supporting those who are deafblind and their carers.
