Sculpture and Hand-building with Krishna Alageswaran

Summary
Following on from the Evening Pottery course, this class is excellent for students wanting a more in-depth introduction to sculpture or to improve on their modelling and texturing skills.

Description

Students will practice more complex slab constructions, use press moulds, try basic mould-making (optional), make a figurative or animal sculpture (complex coiling and modelling), and design functional lidded pots with handles. In addition, students will be given further instruction in the use of slips, oxides, underglazes and glazing.

This course sets student up to move into Open Studio as competent handbuilders with a good introduction to sculptural techniques.
