Sheffield Safe Places are places where adults with learning disabilities, dementia, or mental health illnesses (or other conditions that mean you may suddenly need extra support whilst you are out and about) can go to for help if you suddenly need it. Sheffield Safe Places work with businesses and organisations committed to improving their disability awareness and accessibility, and with individuals to help you retain confidence to stay active and socialise.
Membership is free.
We are a non-profit organisation and currently have 70 Safe Places and over 200 individual members.
Please get in touch if you would like to become a member. We encourage our members to play an active role in the way the scheme runs, but any one can volunteer.
We need people to help with the administration of the project, which includes making up membership packs and the upkeep of spread sheets.
We need people to help with the promotion and on line presence of Sheffield Safe Places.
We need people to visit our Safe Places and tell us how they are doing.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
