Fitness Fanatics is a learning disability friendly fitness and healthy eating class. The sessions run on a Thursday evening at Norfolk Lodge from 6:30pm until 8pm.
The idea came when I worked alongside families on my other project and a need for their sons and daughters to be physically active, reduce isolation, learn how to eat a better balance diet and feel included. After looking around at places available there wasn’t anything that offered specialist learning disability groups for sports and healthily eating in one place for an affordable price so Fitness Fanatics was set up.
Each session costs £6.00 People can pay with their budgets or pay weekly This includes fitness activity a healthy snack and worksheets to take home. There are different activities each week including, dance, football, circuit training, rounder’s, games, and walks around Norfolk Park to name a few.
The group runs for 36 weeks of the year in 12 week blocks with 2 facilitators.
