Sheffield Mind offer one to one support, and a monthly peer group drop in for people over 50 in Sheffield who are in work or currently off work on sickness leave and are experiencing mental health issues.
Work Well Stay Well is an employment support service for those aged 50+ who are employed but are experiencing mental health difficulties. Whether you are still working or on sick leave, this service is available to support you to maintain your job and talk through options and identify and facilitate contact with appropriate support and training networks.
Our one to one service can help people who are having issues by working with them, to address problems that are having an impact on wellbeing. If people are unwell and on sick leave, we can help negotiate a return to work, signpost to other services so that support is ongoing and help individuals talk to employers about reasonable adjustments that may help them work and feel better
The monthly peer group helps people develop practical and emotional skills that will help them manage their work more effectively and improve their ability to cope in the workplace. This includes practical skills workshops according to need, such as assertiveness, confidence building and motivation.
This service also works with employers. If you have an employee who is struggling at work due to mental health difficulties, we can meet with you both to try and develop a strategy for addressing problems and making work more manageable. Interventions will be practical and realistic and we can provide advice and training if workplace wellbeing is an issue or something which you would like to improve.
