Anyone over the age of 16 who is interested in creative writing, reading, writing workshops, book groups and general discussion about literature and in particular, romantic suspense novels.
I am a retired NHS Business co-ordinator, local author and member of the Romantic Novelists' Association.
I am the author of three romantic suspense novels; The House on the Shore, (a 2009 Joan Hessayon Award finalist, and London Book Festival Honourable Mention: Fiction), Three Weeks Last Spring (a Pushcart Prize nominee), and Ring of Lies. Several of my short stories have appeared in anthologies, including the Kindle short, A Little Protection.
I am an experienced speaker who offers talks, workshops, and presentations on various aspects of writing a novel to libraries, schools, church groups, The Womens' Instuite, the University of the 3rd Age, and similar organisations. I occasionally hold workshops in conjunction with other authors, details of which are posted on my website.
In addition to speaking about my writing journey, the topics I speak most often include:
• Voices in my head
• How to write a novel
• I need a hero
• Creating tension in a short story or novel
• Manuscript makeover - the inner critic
• You’ve a fantastic idea… now what? - how to take your concept from brainstorm to book (PowerPoint presentation)
• Why your antagonist is the one holding your story together
Presentations include illustrative material and handouts, and are suitable for all ages.
I can also provide tailor-made presentations/workshops/talks.
