Breast Cancer Care is a national charity that provides information and support for anyone affected by breast cancer. We provide services and support through our website, over the telephone and through our face to face services. Our Living with Secondary Breast Cancer and our Moving Forward Courses are provided here in Sheffield.
Our Moving Forward Course is designed for people that are approaching the end of their hospital based treatment for primary breast cancer, or those who have recently completed treatment. The course will help you to adjust to life after treatment for breast cancer and is designed to help increase your knowledge, confidence and overall wellbeing. It provides information, support and professional guidance on a range of topics to help you know how to cope with changes, manage uncertainties and establish a ‘new normal’. Expert speakers are happy to answer questions and it’s also a chance to get to know others in a similar situation. We run several courses over the year in Sheffield.
The Living with Secondary Breast Cancer group is a monthly support group for people living with a diagnosis of secondary breast cancer that meets in Sheffield city centre. Meetings include a programme of guest speakers on a wide range of issues from side effects and treatments to complementary therapies. You can choose to attend regularly or just pick and choose sessions that are of interest to you. The meetings are facilitated by a trained counsellor. Refreshments will be provided at every meeting and lunch will also be available during the longer sessions.
