Working Together for a Healthy Start is an exciting new project funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund. HENRY (Health, Exercise, Nutrition for the Really Young) is a national charity working in partnership with Sheffield City Council to give babies and young children a healthy start in life and prevent childhood obesity.
We are looking for volunteers who are good listeners, able to empathise and passionate about giving children the best start. Volunteers receive 5 days of free training and certification and receive group and individual support from a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator. Following training, volunteers are matched with individual families to deliver HENRY training on a 1-to-1 basis in a community setting or in a family home. Each family visit takes around 1 hour and visits can happen during the day, evening and at weekends. Volunteers will need to use IT as part of record keeping and communication and be willing to work within HENRY policies and procedures.
