Challenge Cancer Through Adventure is a Peak District based charity run entirely by volunteers. We help people who are based in our region who are living with cancer or a life threatening illness to change their outlook, rebuild confidence and regain control of their lives by undertaking an outdoor adventure challenge.
Challenge Cancer Through Adventure helps people living with cancer by providing support, encouragement, advice and funding to help to change their outlook, rebuild confidence and regain control of their lives through an outdoor adventure challenge.
CCTA helps them plan, prepare for, and undertake the challenge which might be anything from a local adventure around the Peak District (such as rock climbing, abseiling, hang gliding, paragliding or a balloon flight) to a great adventure anywhere in world (such as mountaineering and trekking in the Himalayas and the Andes, sailing in Scandinavia, sea kayaking in the Mediterranean, and cycle touring in Europe).
We are a “local charity.” This means that we are only able to support individuals who live in a defined geographic area: for us, that means the Derbyshire Peak District and surrounding areas, including the neighbouring towns and cities.
Please get in touch if you would like a conversation about an adventure for you or someone you know.
