Description

Preschool day nursery for children 6 months to 5 years. Open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm all year, operating within the Darnall Children Centre building. The nursery is a not for profit registered children’s charity with over 23 years of experience, delivering childcare and support to families living and working in the Darnall area and beyond.

The nursery is a community based charity run by a voluntary management committee. The nursery has a highly skilled and culturally diverse, staff team who are qualified to a high standard. Staff also have expertise and a wide experience of working with children with special education needs and their families. Extensive, creative outdoor learning environment. The nursery has been judged outstanding by Ofsted since 2008.

Offers up to 30 hours free Early Learning childcare placed for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. Holiday Club available in school holidays (these places need to be booked and paid for in advance). Childcare charges are based on competitive rates and chargeable in 5 hourly sessions. For more information on charges please contact the nursery. Health snacks and fruit provided provided (included in the price). Parents please provide nappies, wipes and packed lunch.

 Parking on Frederick street adjacent to the Children Centre. Disabled Access, parking and toilet. Baby change and breastfeeding room. We have one staff memebr who can communicate in British Sign language. Staff have basic Makaton training.

We occasionally have places available. It is advised to but your child on our waiting list as soon as possible. Our register changes from day to day to suit parents request, availabilty and flexibility. We are usually full most of the time but places become available as children move on. It is advised to enquire regarding places and to put your child on the waiting list at the earliest possible time.

18 memebrs of staff. Highly qualified. Dedicated SENCO and SEND Team. Dedicated Safeguading Team.Each child has a dedicated Key Worker. 

Staff training to support children/young people with SEND 

Annual staff development plan is informed by the needs of the children in our care. Staff are currently trained in Autism, visual communication systems, Makaton, Epilepsy, hearing aids. All staff have up to date safeguarding and First Aid training.
