Description

Greentop Community Circus Centre is a community-based circus school running workshops, evening classes and courses. The centre also runs an outreach circus skills programme and hires space to performance groups and for exhibitions etc. Circus and performance-related activities have priority.

The centre is licensed for public performance and entertainment until 11pm and has the following facilities:
• a stage
• PA system
• full lighting and sound facilities
• a custom-installed trapeze rig

Greentop offers the full range of circus skills to learn, including:
• static and swinging trapeze
• cordelisse
• silks
• tightwire
• stilts
• unicycles
• various juggling equipment.

Greentop can offer:
• professional performance training
• team building events
• circus skills workshops and masterclasses
• youth circus
• events entertainment
• children's parties

All tutors are DBS checked.

Greentop is the home of Circus North, an Arts Council England initiative designed to build up the performance-arts sector in the north of England. Please contact for details.

Notes

Greentop is based in a Victorian church that was converted into a circus centre by "Challenge Anneka" in 1995. It has facilities for aerial (Silks, trapeze, hoop, etc), acrobatics and all other circus skills as well as for dance and other performing art forms. It has a full lighting rig and in house PA for live performances as well as a small seating area and kitchen for basic food and drink preparation.
