Description

Repair Sheffield promotes the benefits of repair and reuse in Sheffield and seeks to build a vibrant local repairing economy.

Repair Sheffield is about:
• Saving money and maximising the usefulness we get from the things we buy
• Rebuilding local economies and communities, by buying local services, not imported replacements
• Empowering people even if they have no spare money at all
• Learning how the things around you work
• Understanding which objects are repairable and which are designed to break
• Appreciating that repaired things are often better than a new replacement
• Reducing the pointless consumption of objects and materials
• Learning to enjoy fixing things and meet local people along the way
• Reducing imports by repairing things, helping the environment and reducing landfill

Repair Sheffield links with other recycling organisations such as Access Space, Recycle Bikes, Bitfixit.org.uk, British Horological Society and Transition Sheffield.

Repair Sheffield seeks volunteer repairers and to set up repair cafes in local communities where you can bring along your broken or faulty items. Please see website for repair cafes coming up.

Repair Sheffield is a free service, though people are encouraged to make a donation to help with expenses.
