Sheffield Flourish work collaboratively to build innovative digital and community projects, recognising the untapped strengths of people who’ve experienced mental health issues.
Sheffield Flourish (formerly Recovery Enterprises) is a charity and social enterprise. Our community hub supports people living with mental health conditions in using their skills, ideas and talent to build the lives they wish to lead.
Collaborating with people who have experienced difficulties and distress, we've created a website and peer support movement defined by solidarity, friendship, and hope.
You can join our community by registering at: www.sheffieldflourish.co.uk
Once you've registered on the site you can read real life stories, find out about local events and activities and chat online (and, if you feel inspired, you can share your own story).
We hold friendly and interesting monthly events based on different themes, as well as workshops and peer support groups.
Services run as part of Sheffield Flourish include:
- Sheffield Mental Health Guide www.sheffieldmentalhealth.org.uk/ - An on-line resource featuring a comprehensive searchable directory of mental health and wellbeing related services and groups in Sheffield, as well as providing other useful information and self-help resources.
Digital Ambassadors We know it’s not always easy to use digital tools or the internet. It’s especially hard if you haven’t got someone to show you how. For this reason, we’ve trained up a team of digital ambassadors who visit communities, organisations, groups and wards to help people get online and use the site.
- CAST (Creative Arts Support Team) - A group of mental health service users, volunteers and workers who are passionate about arts for mental health and wellbeing. Running regular workshops, live music and poetry gatherings and also hold art exhibitions.
- Oasis Gardening - Becoming an Oasis gardening volunteer is about learning and sharing skills, it’s meeting new people, spending time amongst nature in lovely surroundings… and growing your own vegetables.
- Brunsmeer Awareness Football Club - We’re a kind, patient and mental health friendly club. We welcome people from all backgrounds and all levels of fitness and ability, whether you’ve played in the past or the game is new to you.
