Coordinated by Sheffield Futures. The Sheffield Youth Cabinet is made up of 6 elected members of UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) and 12 elected Youth Councillors. There are also some special interest seats for some grous of young people to ensure that a wide representation of young people are given a voice in the city.
The young people are aged 12 - 18 and come from different areas of the city, a variety of backgrounds and abilities. Together they bring young people's concerns, views and opinions to influence key decision makers locally, regionally and nationally to help bring about improvements and change.
Sheffield Youth Cabinet meet regularly to work on their priority issues and campaigns. They feed back the views of young people to important decision makers from across the city, to ensure that the voices of young people are heard and acted upon.
