Description

This course will give learners an understanding of working in a school setting with children and young people and encourage parents to be actively involved with their children.

The course seeks to develop the knowledge and understanding that all those working in a school setting will need and covers areas such as safeguarding, communication and understanding the school context. The course will enable students to develop an understanding of working in a support role in a school either in a paid capacity or as a volunteer. The course promotes parental engagement with children’s learning. Students will work towards gaining the Award in Support Work in Schools which is suitable for those wishing to gain employment in a school, work as a volunteer or for those already working in a school setting with children and young people.
