This care home strives to provide person-centred care based on an individual care plan - designed to meet each service-user’s needs and treat them with maximum levels of dignity and respect. The home makes use of a key-worker system so that each resident is assigned a dedicated member of staff.
Paddock Hill organises regular entertainment and therapeutic activities, and makes use of Sheffcare’s activity workers and external volunteers for this. Past activities have included baking, flower arranging and chair-obics. There is a hair-salon on site, as well as private gardens. The home organises regular day trips and holds fundraising events throughout the year, which the local community are invited to. The home also holds Christmas, Easter and bonfire night parties. Visitors are welcome to visit the home at any reasonable time, without appointment, and families may join residents for meals if they wish.
Residents are encouraged to bring items of their own furniture for their rooms. All rooms have telephone and television points, and a carer-calling system. The communal rooms are bright and friendly. Delicious freshly cooked meals are baked by the superb chefs and served in the dining room. There is a laundry service, and a hairdresser, doctor and chiropodist visit the homes regularly.
Respite Care:
Short-term care is available for clients who have been released from hospital after an illness or operation, providing support during their recovery. The home also provides respite care to give carers and family a break from full-time care, and support for clients to undertake social activities, go shopping and visit friends and family.
Qualifications & Quality Standards:
All staff are CRB checked, trained to NVQ 2 level and above, regularly supervised and fully insured. SheffCare is registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure they provide a quality service. Sheffcare has Investors in People accreditation and is a member of the National Care Forum.
SheffCare aims to hold residents meetings (every 4-6 weeks) in their residential homes and to involve its residents in the running of the home.
