Meganursery is a 57 Ofsted Registered community nursery, with a Good rating, providing quality childcare in the area for families from all walks of life.


Description

At Meganursery we aim to provide a loving community where children are known as individuals that matter; showing this in all the little things, form a warm smile in our welcome, to taking the time to listen when children are sharing about their interests and discoveries. We are also committed to being open and honest with each other – with parents, our team, and the team with each other, building trust and accountability within the nursery. We value parent’s opinions and are open to hearing any suggestions you can offer regarding what we could do better at Meganursery. We firmly believe in aspiring to be excellent in everything we do. Committed to continuing to develop and improve what we do as a nursery.

•To provide a high quality nursery experience, where children know they are special and are at the heart of everything that happens.
•To build secure and trusting relationships with children and their families, where we value, engage and work in partnership with parents.
•To provide a wide range of opportunities for children to develop academically, physically and emotionally based according to the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Encouraging children to know their views count, allowing them to talk about their feelings; have an understanding of their own and others’ behaviour, and developing a positive sense of self- esteem.

•To create a safe, appealing and inspiring nursery environment, where children thrive and learn, with access to high quality resources and experiences.

Meganursery is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday 51 weeks per year. All fees include breakfast, dinner, tea & two snacks (depending on the times your child attends nursery). Nappies & baby wipes also included.

  • External professional – Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) will make a referral to the inclusion teacher for the area
  • Settling-in visits are provided in order to build a relationship between the parents, child and their key person.

Staffing arrangements details 
  • Children enjoy a wide range of activities both indoor and out, planned by a qualified and experienced staff team who genuinely love and care for all the children. Our aim is that every individual child thrives and flourishes into their unique selves in our positive, family-feel environment.
  • Key persons monitors and provides support for individuals and their familes.
  • Mega Nursery in Sheffield is a large open-plan day nursery in Sheffield city centre, incorporating three rooms/ areas of learning and development. We pride ourselves in offering some of the most competitive nursery fees in Sheffield.
  • Our rooms are designed to offer a wonderful sense of space and light and most importantly community. With the exception of our baby room, which is a lovely peaceful, self-contained large two open space over two rooms.
Staff training to support children/young people with SEND 
  • Staff have received training in basic Makaton
  • Staff are able to administer medicines with parents’ permission including EpiPen
  • Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) have received training re Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
  • EYT in our Preschool for 3 and 4 year olds.
  • One SENCO has undertaken Autism training (Early Years) with Sheffield Autism Team: Making sense of autism; Enabling environments -  visual structure; Communication and interaction; Behaviour and social skills

  • We prioritise working in partnership with parents to share knowledge and expertise to support children’s holistic development.
  • Letters are sent to parents informing them of nursery events.
  • Staff communicate with parents on a daily basis at the beginning/end of child’s day and more formally at parent review meeting when staff can discuss their child’s progress and set targets.
  • Parent review meetings for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) are held termly.
