Who are we?
Under the Stars is a not-for-profit arts organisation for people with learning disabilities. We offer weekly music and drama workshops for adults aged 18 years and over, as well as a nightclub at The Leadmill. Our workshops run 10am to 3pm on weekdays.
We currently have 5 bands which range in style from electronica to rock, as well as an all-girl group. Each of our bands write their own songs, compose the music and play all of the instruments themselves. They love performing at live events like Sheffield's Tramlines festival, DJ-ing at our nightclubs and two of our bands have released albums!
We also run drama workshops 4 days a week which offer opportunities for acting, singing, dance, comedy, video and much more! Each of our drama companies devise their own original shows based on their own ideas and interests. All of the groups perform at least once a year and they love to show their work on stage in front of an audience.
If you (or someone you know) has a learning disability and would like to sing, act, play a musical instrument or learn to DJ, please get in touch. No previous experience needed!
