Sheffield Bach Choir was founded in1950. Around 60 strong, under our conductor Simon Lindley, we have built a reputation for musical excellence with dynamiic performances of modern classics and Baroque masterpieces. The choir regularly performs three of Bach's major choral masterpieces: Mass in B Minor, St Matthew Passion and St John Passion as well as Handel'sMessiah every December.
Sheffield Bach Society is a choral society for people with good singing voices who are able to sight read music. Entry to the choir is by audition. There is an annual subscription of £110 (£20 for students), which may be paid in installments. A registered charity. The society puts on at least five concerts per season (September-June) with professional soloists and orchestra
