Safeguarding rights, entitlements and best interests of vulnerable people in police custody when parents/carers are unable or unwilling to be there.
We train, support and supervise volunteers who support young people (aged 10-17 years) and vulnerable adults (aged 18 years and over) detained in police custody or attending a police station on a voluntary basis to be interviewed by police officers, as required by the Police and Criminal Evidence (PACE) Act 1984. Volunteers must be 18+yrs, have a full driving licence and access to their own motor vehicle.
