Aspects of the course will include structure and narrative development, characterisation and dialogue, point-of-view or focalisation, voice, genre, prose style, revision and editing. You will be encouraged to experiment with form and content and the emphasis will be on the value of the writing process as well as the finished product. A diverse selection of published short stories will provide a stimulus for critical analysis and the help us to understand the craft of writing.
