The Good Days Project is a registered provider of domiciliary care in the Sheffield area, we provide specialist day services at three separate locations for people with learning disabilities, complex health needs, Profound Multiple Learning Disability and Autism, as well as this we provide outreach support. We provide a high-quality person-centred service that aims to maximise an individual’s potential and enhance their quality of life, focusing on creating a meaningful activity base to truly tailor the service to the individual. Led by our highly trained staff team we provide a good mix of community integration and in service activities that are designed to support the individual to reach their potential.
The Good Days Project operates out of three day services, one based in Stocksbridge, one in Hillsborough and the other in Stannington, all the environments are suited to small groups of around 6-8 people, making the service very personal centred and also responsive to change, within the services we provide a range of different areas that people can access and in doing so engage in different activity’s. Each location has access to a training kitchen, has changing facilities, hoist access and are suited to people with varying mobility needs. Each location provides a stable and safe environment where an individual can take advantage of Sheffield’s inclusive and expansive facility’s or benefit from the sleepy countryside that this area provides
The list of activities that we facilitate is so expansive as the day is geared up to the individual's needs and enjoyment, these can range from hydrotherapy, wheelchair ice skating, inclusive cycling, Rebound, sensory room sessions, music and movement etc
The project offers other services to both its current users and new interested parties, such as Holiday respite – where we take people away for short breaks, it takes the principles of a respite service and turns it into a once in a lifetime trip away exploring the individual's interests. As well as this we offer an accompaniment service, this offers the user support for events and activity's outside of the normal service. Providing a bespoke service that’s flexible approach ensures consistency and the opportunity to attend events that they may previously been overlooked for. In an effort to support our users, we now offer home support respite. Designed to incorporate the home comforts of a non residency based service, this carefully planned service limits the disruption to the individual and allows some much needed support for their carers.
We work closely with other specialists such as Speech & Language Therapists, Community Nurses, Social Workers, Physiotherapists & Clinical Psychologists in the Community Learning Disability teams.
