You Deaf? You BSL? Do you want to improve your English and BSL? Come to the WEA Deaf Literacy class in Sheffield. BSL will be used throughout with a Deaf tutor.


Description

The course is intended for Deaf people who are BSL users. The aim is for Deaf students to develop bilingual skills so that they can participate in the wider society using BSL through BSL/English interpreters and English through pen and paper. Further, to use their smartphones as a communication tool.

New students to the course will carry out initial assessments in BSL/Literacy which will indicate the level at which they are working.

You will work towards group and individual goals. All goals will be monitored and assessed throughout the course and you will be given regular feedback on your progress.
