Toy Library for Family Hub Network Partners
As a Family Hub Network Partner the Toy Library is a source of equipment that is available to your organisation to loan free of charge for the benefit of children and families you are working with.

Borrowing from the Toy Library
Toys are free to loan for a 6 week period. We recommend up to 4 boxes of toys are loaned at one time.
To book the toys, email SheffieldFamilyHubs@sheffield.gov.uk
Please provide the following information in your booking email:
- Organisation name
- Your name and role
- Contact details
- List the toys you wish to borrow (as described in the brochure)
- State how long you would like to borrow the toys for (up to 6 weeks)
- We like to have a two week lead time for collection, please suggest dates / times that you can collect
A check will be made that the toys you wish to borrow are available. Once confirmed that the toys you wish to loan are available, we will arrange suitable pick-up times.
Pick up times will be between 9am – 4pm Monday to Friday. A return date and time will be arranged with you when you collect the toys.
Collection will be from Valley Park Family Hub, Bankwood Close, S14 1LW.
We want children to have fun and enjoy the Toy Library toys; however, members are responsible for the toys they borrow.
Terms of Borrowing
- The Toy Library is for use of children aged 0-18 years old.
- Children must always be supervised by a responsible parent/carer whilst using items borrowed from the Toy Library.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that the toy/equipment you choose to hire is suitable for the age of the child/children.
- We will not accept responsibility for any loss, injury or damage caused by or arising from any misuse of any of our equipment. It is the responsibility of the member to see that the toys are used by the appropriate age of children and that they are played with in an appropriate manner.
- Normal hire period of most toys and equipment is 6 weeks; this can be extended providing another partner does not require them.
- Network partners are responsible for all items borrowed from the library.
- All items remain the property of Sheffield Family Hubs and must not be sold, shared, or rehired during the loan period.
- Toys should not be left outside for prolonged periods and should be cleaned properly before returning. All toys borrowed from the Toy Library must be treated with care and respect and returned to the Toy Library clean and in good condition. (see further information below)
- All toys borrowed must be returned at the agreed time and date.
- All personal information provided at booking will be kept in line with GDPR.
- Toys hired out on your membership are for your use only.
- All damaged/ broken toys must be reported. Please do not attempt to make repairs to a toy as this may affect warranties.
- All toys and equipment must only be used for the purpose for which they are designed.
- Batteries: where included, the toy library will make sure the batteries are working but cannot guarantee they will last the six-week loan period.
- We reserve the right to change the terms of borrowing at any time and you will be informed if this happens.
- Members must inform the Toy Library Staff of any change of address or contact details.
- Sheffield Family Hubs reserve the right to refuse the loan of equipment.
Toy Library Cleaning Guidelines
In line with your COSHH guidelines for cleaning of toys please ensure that toys are returned in the clean state they were provided in.
Please ensure any fabric items have been washed
