The Corner is Sheffield's commissioned young people's substance misuse service. We are an inclusive service and provide confidential, free and non-judgemental support and treatment to young people under 18 in the Sheffield area who are experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol as well as family support, group work and professionals training.
Jill Wales is a highly experienced BACP Accredited Counsellor in Sheffield. Experienced in working with anxiety, panic, depression, anger, trauma, loss, grief, abuse and addiction. The Sheffield Drug (Opiates) Service offers assessment and treatment to people who are experiencing opiate addiction problems. The service provides assessment and treatment services, including substitution medication, harm reduction services and talking therapies.
The Drugs Service offers assessment, support and interventions to people using any non-opiate drug. Non-Opiates is a term used to describe all drugs other than opiate-based drugs like heroin or codeine, for example, cannabis, amphetamines, steroids, cocaine and crack cocaine and new psychoactive substances.
Sheffield Alcohol Services provide treatment to assist in reducing alcohol intake, or to become abstinent.
We offer support to children and young people aged 8-25 who live in Sheffield and are young carers. Being a young carer means they provide care for one or more family members who have disabilities, long-term physical illnesses, and/or mental health difficulties. They may be providing physical, personal, financial and/or emotional care. We also offer support to children and young people aged 8-25 who live in Sheffield and are affected by drug and alcohol issues in their family (now or in the past).
