CLIMB (Carers Living in Mountain Boots) is a peer support group for parents and carers of children with additional needs. We meet fortnightly over hot drinks and cake to chat and hear from relevant guest speakers.
The name CLIMB (Carers Living in Mountain Boots) was chosen by group members to resemble the uphill struggle that many parents and carers of children with additional needs face.
The group welcomes male and female parents and carers of children with additional needs. It does not matter where you live in Sheffield or whether your child has received a diagnosis or not, if you think that this group may benefit you, please do come along.
We invite relevant guest speakers to every other meeting and have found this to be a valuable part of the group. We also find that the parents/carers themselves are a great source of advice and information for other parents/carers to draw upon.
People are encouraged to be themselves, to be free to be open and honest about their situations in an environment which does not seek to judge.
