Shelter Hub Services - Sheffield

We offer a wide range of help and advice on all housing and homelessness issues.  We have a team of advisers and solicitors who may be able to help you with your problem – and if we can’t help, we work with other agencies who can. We have computers and telephones you can use to access the internet for advice, claim benefits, or bid on properties.

Shelter Hub Services offers a variety of housing support and advice services to people who live in Sheffield.

Shelter's Advice Service offers advice, casework and legal representation on housing issues, including housing rights, homelessness, rent/mortgage arrears. possession action, disrepair, anti-social behaviour and harassment. The team offer advice and legal representation in court for those that may be facing court action. Shelter's Legal team and solicitors will determine if a case qualifies for Legal Aid, or, if not, what the best fee arrangement for the client will be. The Service is open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm for people to use the phones and computers or to ask about accessing advice and appointments.

Shelter's Housing Support Services offer support to people facing housing issues in the Sheffield area. Support workers assist clients with their housing issues with the aim of maintaining a tenancy or avoiding eviction. Support is offered for different lengths of time, dependent on the client's needs.

The Homeless Prevention Service offers support citywide to any household/tenure where there is a risk of homelessness, and where the service can reduce or remove that risk. The Resettlement Service offers support to households who are resettling into a new property and require support to set up and maintain that property. Together these make up our Homeless Prevention and Resettlement (or HPR) support service. Referrals can be made by contacting the service and can be taken directly from the client or through a third party with consent.

The Drug and Alcohol Prevention and Recovery offers a similar support service to that of HPR, but is specifically for those with current or historic substance misuse issues. We support people with their own tenancy to either prevent homelessness or become settled in a new property.
