Kingdom House - Lifeways Community Care

Kingdom House is a specialist re-ablement and respite facility which provides both short-term and on-going care packages. The facility offers independent living for adults with learning disabilities, those on the autistic spectrum, physical impairments and/or sensory impairments, mental health issues and complex needs.

Kingdom House aims to place each individual at the centre of
what they do, offering choice and control in all aspects of daily living. Their key objective is centred around the transition and rehabilitation of individuals back into the community.

A sympathetic conversion of a former farmhouse was recently carried out to provide a peaceful space with a host of specialist facilities to help stimulate and care for adults with a wide range of complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. Kingdom House has spacious accommodation over two floors, with four en-suite bedrooms on the ground floor and first floor, giving residents both privacy and neighbourly company. Each floor is self contained with its own spacious lounge, dining room, kitchen and laundry facilities which all allow wheelchair users and those with mobility problems easy access in and around the building. There is a lift between floors, an electronic overhead tracking system to each ensuite bedroom and a specialist assisted bathroom on the ground floor for those residents requiring dignified help with bathing.

The house stands within its own large secure landscaped grounds. To
the rear of the main house there is a detached barn which has been
converted providing a comfortable and versatile building for residents to use for training, leisure, life skills, independent living skills and recreational needs. This service encourages residents to pursue individual hobbies and shared interests together with a program of life skills training.
