This course is designed to help students gain confidence and enjoyment in drawing, painting and being expressive in art, exploring a range of materials including pastels, acrylics, inks and oils, in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
This term we will look at painting flowers individually and as part of a still life. The brief flowering of flowers brings us great pleasure, and imagery of flowers has been used down the ages as an allegory for phases in our lives and love. We will explore a range of ways to depict the beauty, fagility and transparency of flowers through drawing and paint.
This will include tips and tools for drawing objectively and gaining confidence to become more expressive.
We will use a range of techniques and materials including Brusho, watercolour acrylics, oils, inks and pastels, on their own or in combination.
Throughout the course there will be practical demonstrations showing how to use the various media, as well as one-to-one discussion with the tutor on how your work is progressing.
Students will be free to pursue their own projects
