Citizenship First is a not-for-profit organisation that specialises in providing support to people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues. We also provide an Appointee and Money Management Service.
Supported Living
Our services include support to:
- Run your own home
- Become more independent and learn new skills

- Build up social networks in your local community
- Help with getting out and about
• Citizenship First can support you to build your skills in areas such as:
- Planning meals and cooking
- Cleaning
- Budgeting and paying bills
- Shopping
- Managing your tenancy
- Maintaining your health and personal care needs
Community Based Support
Whether you want to take up a hobby, experience something different or just get out of the house and be part of your community, Citizenship First can support and empower you. For example this may include:
- Enabling you to try a new activity or pursue a hobby
- Providing a chance to meet new friends
- Developing a personalised plan to build on your self-travelling skills
- Support to join a group or club
Support staff have an excellent relationship with activity providers and community groups throughout the city and can arrange taster days and trial sessions for you.

Citizenship First Appointee & Money Management
Appointeeship
This service can act as a corporate appointee for people deemed to have no capacity through poor mental health, dependency to drugs/alcohol or who are mentally/physically disabled.
Citizenship First will:
- receive monies via the DWP in the form of benefits.
- receive private pensions
- set up personal budgets that fit within the income and expenditure
- act on behaf of people living in the community and in care homes
- ensure all untilities and care home fees are paid
- liaise with appropriate third parties involved with our clients
Prices:
One off set-up fee £38.73 for all of the below:
- Community Basic (CB) - Client lives in the community £12.91 per week
Client receives money via BACS (preferred method) or postal charged at Royal Mail cost.
- Residential Basic (RB) - Client lives in Care Home - £12.91 per week
Client receives money via BACS (preferred method) or postal charged at Royal Mail cost.
- Community Advanced - £25.82 per week
Client receives monies by hand delivery (subject to radius)
Managed Accounts
Set up fee £38.73, weekly cost £5.96
This includes:
- receipt of monies from a Direct Payment team
- ensuring payment for all approved Day Services/Support as stated in the SPSOR
- ensuring that the clients are paying the correct amount of Care Contribution within their Direct Payments
- return any unspent monies to the appropriate parties involved
We can provide services within the UK and Northern Island.

Qualifications & Quality Standards:
Citizenship first is inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure a quality service is delivered. All staff are either working towards or have NVQ level 2 in Care Work whilst some have NVQ level 4 and over. All staff are DBS checked.
