This then informs providers quickly and discreetly about the support you need and may gain you access to things like concessionary ticket prices and complex reasonable adjustments without having to go into loads of personal detail.
It's all based on your rights under the Equality Act and providers responsibilities.
All for just £15 for 3 years.
Background
Nimbus: Disability Consultancy, the developers of the card, have for many years advised businesses on their obligations under the Equality Act and as a social enterprise have a unique understanding of the needs of disabled people.
The card was developed to bridge a gap between disabled people and providers.
- Sometimes that gap is about the evidence that is required to access a reasonable adjustment. For example in accessing concessionary ticket rates.
- Some times the gap is a providers ability to inform users of what they can and can't do - we encourage providers to talk about their access and adjustments in terms of the symbols on the card.
- Sometimes the gap is about a disabled person being able to find a service that can meet their needs- this is where a business can welcome people by promote themselves as accepting the card.
