Ecclesfield Library

Ecclesfield Library is run entirely by non-paid volunteers. We continue to offer Sheffield City Council Library Services, including loans of books, DVDs etc. We have 2 People's Network computers available. Colour photocopying, printing & scanning is available. Free WiFi. We also run a parallel book loan system (Yellow Sticker system) consisting of books donated by the local community.


 Facilities we provide

  • Book Loans in addition to the Council's (our Yellow Sticker system)

  • Regular events:  
    • Little Bears Club on Friday mornings 10-11.30.   Phone for information
    • Knit and Natter group on Wednesdays from 1pm.   Phone for information.
    • Local History/ Parish Archives Project on last Wednesday of the month  3.00-5.00.  Phone for information
    • Creative Writers' Group. First Wednesday of the month from 6pm - 8pm.  Phone for information.

  • Talks, craft demonstrations, and other events are held throughout the year.  Phone for information and to be put on mailing list.                           
  • Refreshments available
  • Colour photocopier, printing and scanning available - A3 and A4.    
  • WiFi - fast, free, and unlimited, giving Internet access to your tablet, laptop, or smartphone (Terms and conditions apply)
  • Sales of books, DVDs & CDs
  • Room/space hire
  • Car park.
  • The building is wheelchair accessible, but only standard toilet facilities.

Council Facilities

  • Books and DVDs can be browsed and borrowed.
  • Books etc from any Library can be reserved for delivery to and collection from Ecclesfield Library     
  • People's Network computers can be booked  (half hour/1 hour).

  • Reading Group  -   Second Monday of the month   5.00-6.00
  • Knit and Natter   -   Group every Monday & Wednesday from 1pm
  • Local History / archiving / reminiscence sessions
  • Little Bears' Club from 10 a.m. each Friday.
  • Surgeries with City Councillor for East Ecclesfield, Andy Bainbridge at 11 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month
  • Surgeries with City Councillor for East Ecclesfield, Steve Wilson at 10:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month
  • Surgeries with City Councillord for East Ecclesfiel, Moya O’Rourke at 11 am on the third Saturday of each month
