HFT are a national charity with a local focus providing a range of support options for adults with a learning disability.
HFT is a national charity with a local focus supporting over 70 adults with learning disabilities across the Sheffield and Derbyshire area. HFT provides support to individuals with a range of learning disabilities including autistic spectrum disorders, complex needs and people with acquired brain injuries.
HFT offer a variety of options to support people in living the life they choose, from support for a few hours a week to 24 hours a day. Support can be one to one or shared and can be provided out in the community or at home, from supported living to support with finding a job.
• Support:
HFT offers responsive and flexible support including personal care, support with cooking, cleaning or shopping. Support with administering and managing medication. Support with cultural and learning opportunities, promoting life skills and maximising independence.
• Friendship and leisure:
If you have a learning disability it can be difficult getting out and about or making new friends, HFT run a number of groups and social activities locally for people with learning disabilities to support people in meeting others including Luv2meetU a friendship and relationship agency (see separate entry)
Supported employment:
HFT work in partnership with local employment agencies, businesses and local job centres to support people in securing meaningful jobs, paid and voluntary employment. Employment Support can include help with:

- Finding and Applying for Jobs
- In Work Support
HFT also promote the use of assistive technology. This includes using technology to help promote people's independence and safety at home or when travelling out and about in the community.

Qualifications & Quality Standards:
All staff are enhanced DBS checked and are qualified to NVQ2/diploma level or above. Hft has been operating for over 50 years. It is registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
