Coumes Spring Children's Centre Day Nursery

We provide day-care and out of school activities for children age 0 to 11.


We are situated in a village location and our building has direct access to self-contained outdoor play areas. We provide nursery places for children age 0 to 4 years old and out-of-school care for children age 4 to 11.

We are registered to provide Free Early Learning for 3 - 4 year olds and eligible 2  year olds. Our staff team is lead by an Early Years Professional.

On Friday afternoons a Spanish activity session is included at no extra cost.

Staff are familiar with some words in Makaton and would take further training if required.

We use a key person system to support children and their families.

We use small group sessions to help children gain confidence and learn new skills.

Staff training to support children/young people with SEND 

Staff have attended workshops on the following:

  • Introduction to Makaton.
  • moving and handling.
  • Team Teach.
  • Epilepsy.
  • Gastric feed.
  • ADHD and play.
  • Cystic fibrosis.
  • Diabetes.
  • However, most medical training/familiarisation is specific to the individual child.
