Not for profit Creative Arts Organisation for Adults and Young People with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
Art Works understands everyone is different and everyone has the right to work and live a fulfilled life. We are taking a fresh approach to adult care by supporting individuals to make their own choices around our creative projects.
Art Works is a community and arts organisation. We are working together to provide quality day and work opportunities within the creative industries for adults with learning disabilities, autism, sensory disabilities and physical disabilities. Art Works is run by qualified care managers with backgrounds in teaching, art, and media. We have been the Mayor of Sheffield's Chosen Charity in 2018 and this year we have won a Sparkle Award for Impact on Autism in Sheffield.
Those who join Art Works can expect to build crucial life skills and out and about in the community. Working towards employment in the creative industries Art Works provides group work placements at venues like Sheffield Documentary Festival, Site Gallery, Wentworth Woodhouse, Wildlife Trust and volunteering positions that are accompanied by workshops with guest artists, filmmakers, animators followed by service user gallery screenings, city centre exhibitions, and film festival participation.
This year we have launched an International Arts Competition for adults with learning disabilties and autism-Art Works Togther.
