We have supported learners with various SEND barriers including: Autism, SEMH, Dyslexia, Global Delay and Moderate Learning Difficulties. With many SEND learners being in possession of an EHCP, we can support them to achieve their educational ambitions.   Learners with SEND who have joined Nisai in Key Stages 3 and 4 have gone on to achieve their chosen pathway, whether that be College, University, or the workplace.    We meet the needs of many challenges experienced by SEND learners such as avoiding eye contact and providing a familiar routine through timetabled lessons. We provide our learners with small, secure virtual classes (no more than 15 students) with no webcams and optional communication methods. Subsequently, they can focus on their education without having the distraction of 25 plus other students.   Our students are based across the country and their lessons are being accessed anywhere with an internet connection using a laptop, tablet, or PC.  Through our own online system, called the Nisai Virtual Academy, we provide learners from all kinds of backgrounds a bespoke education that’s delivered in an inclusive, social and student-focused environment. Our classes are smaller than those in schools, are interactive and taught by qualified teachers. In addition to core subjects delivered to Key Stage 3 learners we also provide recognised qualifications such as Functional Skills, GCSEs and A Levels and we also deliver vocational and non-academic courses like apprenticeships and traineeships. And for all our courses, our sophisticated tracking system records attendance, behaviour, contribution in lessons, progress made and distance travelled.
