Who can attend?

Children and young people aged between 5 and 17 years with a disability who need a higher level of support.

How do I apply?

  • If you already have a Social Worker, ask them to refer you to SNIPS.
  • If you do not have a Social Worker, please contact the Children with Disabilities Team on 0114 2735368. Ask for a member of the SNIPS team.
  • Complete a SNIPS application form. Click here to open the form.

If a SNIPS short break club is agreed

If a SNIPS short break club is agreed then your child/young person will receive either:

  • one session of up to 5 hours per week, during the school holidays, or
  • alternate Saturday sessions of up to 5 hours during the term time, or
  • one session after School per week during the term time

A member of the SNIPS team will meet you and your child or young person to get details of their interests and support needs. They will create a profile and complete a risk or behaviour plan (if appropriate) which the club gets to help them meet your child’s needs.
